    Hello,

    The intro paragraph on this plugin states “The plugin has been updated with the newest AdWords conversion tracking script that deals with the new Apple cookie tracking prevention. Apple Intelligent Tracking Prevention and New AdWords Conversion Tracking Tag”
    …. however I can’t find the tech details on this.

    The new, correct type of AdWords (Google Ads) tracking that everyone should be using if possible is GTAG.

    GTAG is different from the old AdWords tracking code in that now there is two separate bits of code that work just like the Facebook Pixel: One “Global Head Code” that goes on all pages, site-wide, and one Event snippet code that does where ever the conversion will be tracked.

    Does this plugin now support the new AdWords (Google Ads) GTAG with both types of code snippets?

    P.S. see official Google documentation on this if you want: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7548399?hl=en thanks

    Yes, the plugin inserts the gtag script(s), which also is the one that now deals with the Apple cookie tracking prevention.

    AWESOME thank you @alekv!

    Hello, can I please step into this conversation.

    How can I add the Event Snippet to the thank you page using this plugin? I don’t even know how to find the thank you page, let alone add a tag/snippet to it 🙂

    (On a related note, do I need to remove anything from my site before adding the GTAG? I currently use the plugin Google Analytics Pro for enhanced ecommerce, so I’m not sure what tag was placed in that. They seemed to think it’s ok to add the GTAG without changing anything, but I thought I’d get your opinion too).

    Thanks so much!

    You don’t have to. The plugin does it for you. The plugin is here to make your live easier (and the conversion tracking more accurate).

    do I need to remove anything from my site before adding the GTAG?

    It depends if you added some conversion code by yourself. Either by changing the code, or using another plugin which is injecting this conversion pixel. You would have to delete the custom code and / or turn off other related plugins.

    I currently use the plugin Google Analytics Pro

    Google Analytics Pro is not inserting the conversion pixel. So you should be fine using our plugin.

    Fantastic! So I can just add the event snippet provided by Google? Do I need to modify anything? Any special instructions for adding it to your plugin, so it goes in correctly?

    You’ll only need to configure our plugin with the conversion ID and conversion label.

    In your case:

    conversion ID: ****************
    conversion label: ****************

    In future try not to post private data like this in a public forum.

    Thanks so much! I’ve edited my comment to remove the personal data, if you want to do the same. I’ve copied the conversion ID and label, so you can get rid of it.

    In the new GTAG method there’s no clear statement which one is conversion ID or Label.

    Where to look for it?

    <script>
    gtag(‘event’, ‘conversion’, {
    ‘send_to’: ‘AW-XXXXX1111/WxSNCMvO-o8BEOCv7_IC’,
    ……….
    });
    </script>

    Are they like that?
    ID: AW-XXXXX1111
    Label: WxSNCMvO-o8BEOCv7_IC

    Almost.

    ID: XXXXX1111
    Label: WxSNCMvO-o8BEOCv7_IC
