Last few days I have been trying to add a sidebar to my “Home” page, I am now using the widget “Easy Custom Sidebar”. The tutorials and write-ups seem straight forward, but when I try it on my Godaddy WordPress page, there aren’t any such functions or methods or drop down box, in other words, functionalities are missing.

There is just nothing there, other than a message that 20-11 does not have sidebar, just footers.

There seem to be different versions of WordPress!

No, the WordPress that GoDaddy provides is the same software we provide here, but they may have provided some of their own additions to it.

If you’re looking for https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-custom-sidebars/ that’s a plugin you can install from Plugins > Add New in your site’s Dashboard.

    Hi, thx for answering.

I am using Easy Custom Sidebars, seem to be popular with WordPress developers.

But my Godaddy WordPress is not showing any of the functionalities as explained in the plugin e.g. there’s not function to set Page Attribute to Sidebar Template.

I am using 20-11 theme and have renamed the Example page to Home page and set it to static.

Ok, I recommend asking at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/easy-custom-sidebars/ so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

    Thanks, will do.
    I am so puzzled.

Thank-you all, I think I am getting the hang of this.

I can insert codes to create new sidebars, each with a different id, in
    function.php
    sidebar.php

Nice not to have to rely on plugins all the time, apparently some of which screwed up my update due to conflict. I think I’ll experiment with the WordPress theme codes, see what people like best 🙂 🙂
