Is find and replace necessary?

    Hi there. If I migrate from example.com to newsite.com, do I have to use the find-replace tool to replace example.com with newsite.com before exporting? Or does the plugin handle replacing the site URL on the target site automatically?

    I teach WordPress and am never 100% sure what the correct advice is.

    Hi Dave,

    Thank you for your question.
    I understand that this is confusing and we will try to address it in the next version by adding FAQ section at the top that answers this and a few other common questions.

    The plugin will automatically replace:
    siteurl
    homeurl
    paths

    The use of find/replace tool at the moment is rather limited and it fits uncommon use like renaming users, posts, and similar things.

    The plugin is intended to be a single click export, single click import, without the use of find/replace or advanced options.
