Hi!
I am using the official amp plugin and Glue for Yoast SEO and Amp to get statistics for my amp pages. And just recently I read that “By default, when a user visits an AMP page and then a normal page (or vice versa), Google AMP Analytics counts it as two different sessions.” Source
Is this true? I would like to able to trust my amp numbers.

Hi Jesper,

We are not familiar with how exactly Google AMP Analytics counts sessions or with the article provided. We only know that the Glue plugin has a field in which to enter analytics code. We also know there exists a specific AMP analytics code as described by Google here: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/amp-analytics/.

We are not sure if the amp-analytics code needs to be modified on your site to prevent duplicate sessions or if it is something else. We suggest contacting the authors of the article for more information OR Google regarding how they count sessions.
