 * I’m currently running 1.2a 10/03/04 build, and have a number of hacks, including
   phpGiggle.
If I upgrade to a new nightly with the plugin architecture, can I
just drop the relevant php files into the plugin dir ? (I have all the hacks
saved as individual files, with the myhacks.php just calling them from a subdir).

 * It doesn’t seem to work exactly like that for some hacks. I tried converting
some, and some would works and others wouldn’t. Perhaps before 1.2 is a stable
release a converter/upgrade tool for hacks to plugins should be written?

 * Yes, does the new plugins directory replace myhacks.php or will they run alongside
each other? Could be confusing for some people.

 * myhacks.php will be deprecated in the next few releases, but the myhacks.php
structure will continue to coexist with the plugin architecture for the time
   being.

 * Coming late to the discussion, but I’m curious as to where WP is going with myhacks.
   php.
The main issue for me is that I’ve made small changes to page code here
and there, and need to track it somehow to ensure it keeps working in updated
   WP versions. Thoughts?

 * myhacks is just a file that is included so even if it were to “disappear” you
could still add your functions to other included files.

 * Is there another main source to get more hacks / plugins? I thought I had bookmarked
another site, but can’t find it now.
