Support » Plugin: All In One WP Security & Firewall » IPv6 support in Blacklist manager

  • Since today none of the previous and newly entered IPv6 address are seen as valid address. This morning I tried to enter 2001:4b98:dc0:41:216:3eff:fe35:9f93 in the blacklist. After that attempt I got a message the earlier entered IPv6 addresses had an invalid IP-address format. I could only solve this by removing them, and the strange thing is that the new one was recognised at first en was in the list. After entering IPv4 address the newly added IPv6 address was also recognised as invalid. Did something change in the last update of the plugin, or am I the only one with this strange behaviour?

    Thanks for the info.
    I will be in touch.

    Hi Peter

Tested your fix today, and the problem with the IPV 6 numbers is resolved
On my site it is now working, with the Avant theme.
I have not tested other themes, but I do not think that is necessary.
    Regards,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
    Thanks for verifying this.

Hi @wpsolutions. Sorry for not replying sooner, was away for a few days to a lovely place without internet 🙂

@psmits1567, see you have done a great job already, waarvoor mijn hartelijke dank 🙂

@wpsolutions, your fix, and the tests from peter, looks like to show you tackled the issue. I work with a parent-child theme and have and have some plugins running for creating content and maintain the website. Can I get the zip also to test if it also works in my situation? Or will you bring out an update asap?

    Thanks for your effort.

    Hi msn450val

    Graag gedaan 🙂
One advice from me, look at the names the IPV6 address uses e.g. [login],login etc, and put that in the list of blocked users. Also immediately block users that are not known in WordPress.
That saves you adding a lot of IP addresses to the table within this plugin.
I noticed that after those actions I do no longer see IPV6 addresses trying to break the site.
For both to work you need to activate these functions within the plugin
    Regards,
    Peter
