Question for you- no hurry given that you're traveling.
First a little bit of context: I'm using MLA to automate the import of images into WP that have embedded IPTC keywords. These images have been exported from Adobe Lightroom. In Lightroom I use a controlled vocabulary that can attach synonyms and inheritance to keyword terms, which are in turn exported with the images. Up until this point I've been mapping the IPTC keywords to the 'attachment_tag' taxonomy that MLA creates, but now I'm wondering if I can replicate the hierarchy of my controlled vocabulary by importing the IPTC keywords into the 'attachment_category' taxonomy instead.
So my question is: what would be the most feasible way to take my controlled vocabulary and automate the creation of the hierarchical category structure in the 'attachment_category' taxonomy inside WP? My controlled vocabulary is a plain text document that uses a combination of tabs (to denote hierarchy), curly braces (to denote synonyms) and square brackets (to denote excluded terms). My hope is to write a script of some sort that can process the controlled vocabulary and insert its hierarchy into WP.
I realize this has little to do with MLA specifically, but your plugin has enabled some very, very interesting possibilities with a minimum of manual labor...
