  • I removed Event Manager, files and database tables, a few months ago. Soon after that, I started receiving PayPal Instant Payment Notification Warnings regarding the URL http://*********/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=em_payment&em_payment_gateway=paypal

    My credit card has also sent me daily messages of a failed charge of USD 1.24 since this happened.

    The email and credit card messages happen at around the same time every day. I have gone into PayPal to turn off IPN notifications, and it still happens.

    As an aside, I’d been using the Pro version for years on our tour booking site. It’s a great plug-in. I only removed it because we have grown so much that we need a solution that’s tailored to the tourism industry. I highly suggest it for small businesses.

    Firstly, thanks for the recommendation, despite you moving away for your specific reasons (I’d love to hear more about what specific features would have worked for your industry, you can mail me via our contact form).

    It’s odd that the messages would still be firing if you turn off IPN, previous IPNs that failed may be retrying but they stop retrying after about 24 hours. Could it be that you have another paypal account that still has IPN activated with our link as the main return URL?

    I’m not sure what the repeating failed charge could be. We don’t have any recurring charge features, and I’m not sure what you mean by “credit card sending you”, as that should be coming from your gateway if it’s to do with us, not your credit card company.
