    Hello Samuel,

Thank you for the great plugin. I have been using it on all of my sites for a long time now.

I’m using a Galaxy S2 and an iPhone5 with the Official WordPress App installed on both.

The droid version seems to work fine with no issues.

The Apple App version has started giving giving me the following error after the last update when I try to visit the Stats page.

“Jetpack 1.8.2 or later is required for stats. Tap below and search for ‘Jetpack’ to install it on your site”

I have tried a number of things to try and make Jetpack-lite work, but with no luck.

For a couple of sites, I disabled Jetpack-lite and installed the standard version of Jetpack and I can now see my stats again on these sites.

I’m unsure where the issue lies, but was hopefull that maybe you would have time to take a look at the issue and see if you are able to resolve it please?

I still prefer your lite version over the official version and would love to see it updated to avoid this limitation.

    Thank you,
    =-)

Jetpack Lite 1.7 it’s based in Jetpack 1.7. So that error seems to be legit.

I’m in the process of updating Jepack Lite to latest Jetpack base. So you can expect an update soon.

By the way, would you like to beta test next release of Jetpack Lite?

    Thank you!

Yes, I would be happy to test the beta version, do I just grab it from the Development Version?

Let me know when to grab a copy.

Yes, you must download development version (wait about 20/30 minutes before download, for server to update files). And follow these steps:

    1. Deactivate you current Jepack Lite.
    2. Delete it from your plugins menu or by FTP.
    3. Upload development version and activate it.

You’ll be asked to connect to WordPress.com servers again, it’s ok.

Let me know if the problem with the app it’s fixed.

    Hmmm…

When trying to Activate the plugin, it fails and gives the following error

Warning: require_once(/home/username/domain.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack-lite/class.jetpack-user-agent.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/username/domain.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack-lite/jetpack-lite.php on line 4311

It says the version number installed is 2.1.2

    Thank you

It seems some files were missing when uploading to SVN.

    Please, try to download again.

Awesome, Stats is working again with the new dev version!

Note: for others with the same issue and are upgrading, it does work, but you may find you need to some how refresh your app to have it connect properly. I even went to the extent of removing one site from the App Settings. I rebooted the App. One site was very simple and worked straight away.

I have not tested the other items, I notice the new JSON API and Extra Sidebar Widgets. I will need to update a couple of other sites to test these things.

    Thank you,
    =-)

So it worked without activating the JSON API?

    Thread Starter Jandal

    (@jandal)

I have only tested it on 2 sites out of 10’s so far, but one didn’t mention the JSON API at all during install and the other mentioned that it had activated the JSON API during install.

When I expand the menu for Learn More it gives me the option to Deactivate the JSON API, and the menu that drops down will not go up, but that is just aesthetics.

I will test some more later today, have to catch up on some regular work for the next few hours 😉

    Again, thank you very much!

Please can you confirm if stats works in app turning off the JSON API?

    Thread Starter Jandal

    (@jandal)

Sorry about the delay, thank you for the reminder.

I disabled the JSON API, reloaded the page to make sure it was still displaying the setting as if it is disabled.

Removed the site from my iPhone App, restarted the App on the iPhone, added my site to the App and I can still view the stats.

The JSON API does not appear to be critical to the operation of Stats.
    (fingers crossed 😉

    While the JSON API was disabled I also tested the following;

Short Links appear to be working as expected.

Extra Sidebar Widgets appears to be working as expected, but I have never used it before this time. But I can add the widget and results are displayed.

I hope this is helpful, please let me know if there are any other specific items you would like me to test.

    Thanks

Thank you very much for the testing Jandal.

I’ll remove JSON API and release new Jepack Lite.

Please Jandal, can you test the new trunk?

    Thread Starter Jandal

    (@jandal)

Ok, I have tested the new trunk on one of the existing blogs and one that had an old version installed and I have had success with all both of them.

The plugin seems to be working well and the WordPress App on my iPhone is connecting too.

I think it it good to go!

    Thank you very much!

O wait, I have just noticed something, the stats link in the WordPress Dashboard is missing on the left hand side.

Can you please add that back again?!

    Thank you,
    =-)
