I installed the latest version (1.5) today and I realized that before the update there was this field IP:Neutral which changed to IP:Blacklisted of IP:Blocked after the IP was blacklisted. IN 1.5 this field doesn’t change anymore. The IP stays always Neutral, no matter if it is blacklisted or not.

    Please fix. Thanks.

    Blessings.

    Hi,

I have checked it with WP 3.4 and then 3.5 it is working fine charlievie.
    Screenshot: http://ip-finder.me/working_fine.png

There are two options now, Blacklist IP and Blacklist Username.
You can also check in IP Blacklist menu how many times visitor or spammer has visited the website after being blocked.

Are you using any other plugin for IP Blacklist?

Sorry no it isn’t. I appreciate your screen shot, but it looks like I still do have the problem.
I made a short clip, so you can at least visually see what’s going on.

    http://youtu.be/QEclSG2bM-0

Towards the end of the clip I show the IP Blacklist and as you can see, today is 12/21/2012 and the last IP added to that list was 12/17/2012. That was the day before I upgraded to the new version.

Let me know if I can assist you with any more information.

    Blessings

PS: I also just updated to V1.6 (that was after the video), but the status is the same, it doesn’t add the IP to the IP Blacklist and the IP remains Neutral.

    Hey,

The problem is… I am not able to view youtube.com it is blocked in our country :/
Can you mail me video directly at ad33l@live.com ?

Charlievie, if you add username to blacklist, is it also creating problem? not changing from neutral to blacklist?

-Are you using default comments page? i.e. edit-comments.php?
-What about adding IP address manually?
-Are you using any other IP blocking plugin, if so, can you tell me the name so that I can download it and find out if the coding are conflicting?
-Using firewall plugin or something? Because they block GET fields from url. Example: http://example.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php?blacklist=0.0.0.0

    GET field: blacklist

I need to know these things so that I can find the exact bug in plugin.

Thank you so much for informing about the problem πŸ™‚

    Hello again πŸ™‚

Well, I have modified INSERT query for IP and USERNAME and uploaded the zip file here: http://ip-finder.me/v1.6_charlievie.zip

Download, unzip and then replace “ip-blacklist-cloud” on FTP under wp-content/plugins/

Please let me know if it is working now.

    Thanks,

    Adeel,

I just sent you the video, I didn’t see you already provided a fix. I will upload and test it sometime this evening or tomorrow (Sat 12/22/2012).

God Bless and thanks, I will keep you posted about the outcome of the test.

    Good morning Adeel,

My apologies for taking longer than I thought. I just ran a few tests with the new version you provided to me in the this blog. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fix the problem at all.

I tried a view more things and hope they might help you in locating the bug.

    1. I Clicked on the link Blacklist IP on the comments page and it didn’t work
    2. I Clicked on the link Blacklist Username and it didn’t work either.
    3. Then I tried to add the IP Adress manually and that would work either. No error messages, just the IP Address was not added to the list

But when I click on IP Detail the IP Address is on your website and it shows that I blocked it, because my website is listed where it says blocked by or something like that.

Maybe that might help you to narrow it down a little.

    Blessings

    Adeel,

I just realized that another plugin stopped working on Dec 21, the same day your plugin stopped working. It’s called Piwik. Here is the link to it http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-piwik/

    (@charlievie)

Never mind my last post … I found the reason why Piwik didn’t work. I password protected the installation directory. That was my fault.

    (@ad33lx)

    Hi,
I am trying to figure out things for you. you mentioned about installation directory is password protected. Can you please check the IP Blacklist Cloud directory as well?

The only problem you are facing is “Handling with MySQL”. it seems like your WordPress is not allowing to edit anything in Database.

Please check on your end. πŸ™‚
    Thanks.

    (@ad33lx)

“But when I click on IP Detail the IP Address is on your website and it shows that I blocked it….”

Now I am quite sure that my plugin is now restricted to deal with Database. I am using $wpdb queries to connect with SQL.

I have checked my plugin with other IP blacklisting plugins and it is not conflicting with them.

    Regards,
    Adeel
