I believe they would have to entered in manually. I am working on a next release which will allow wildcard * for IP ranges.
Hi Matt, just wondering how long away the IP ranges might be? I have a client that needs to add ranges which individually would be hundreds of IP addresses. I am more than happy to pay for this plugin if you wanted to make it a paid one 🙂
By the way, it is working perfectly for individual IP addresses.

It is very tough to get the IP Ranges to work. I really want to support IPV6 and that is what is posing the difficulty. If you need something immediate, I would recommend checking out https://wordpress.org/plugins/ip-based-login/ this handles IPV4 ranges. It takes a different approach to logging in though and may be a performance hog if you have a ton of entries and users.
