 * is it possible to ip log and ban. spiders have gotten to my site and i want to
   see if they always use the same IP and ban it from posting comments if possible.

 * you can do it through htaccess. or you can try using blacklist to block spam.
   i believe blacklist can even go through your current comments and check for spam.

   just download, follow instructions in the readme, and you’ll be good to go. Doesn’t
   require any editing of files. Just drop into place, run install and then configure
   it.

 * i ran it. but how do i get it to scan the already posted comments for blacklisted
   items. i added the urls i wanted to the list and they comments are still there.

 * goto the search function. you should notice a tab near the top. manage-search-
   moderate. just type in something like poker in the search function and it’ll 
   give back every comment that has that word.
