First up, I’d like to thank the authors for a well written and easy to administer plugin. It provides a good solution to slot in with other security measures. I have noticed that the IP addresses in the notifications emails are missing the last 8 bits. Example below:
`Your website, example.com, is undergoing a brute force attack.
There have been at least 70 failed attempts to log in during the past 120 minutes that used one or more of the following components:
Component Count Value from Current Attempt
———————— —– ——————————–
Network IP 4 112.78.6
Username 70 admin
Password MD5 5 4b18f2918f9fc3ea2783cf55572de612`
Bolded text is my edit to show that there are only 3 numbers in the IP address, not 4 as we would expect.
I noticed another thread of this forum mentioning WPfail2ban as an option to log failed login attempts. I think I might add this one to automate banning IP addresses in the firewall.
Having the full IP adress in the email would help on an administrative level, so I don’t have to grep the access logs to find the full IP address.
Thanks for the hard work. It’s a great plugin.
