 * it’s also not important for me to know the device and browser, maybe I can disable
   this too?

 * See this topic: [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/switch-off-saving-ip-adresses-and-device-for-new-data-privacy/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/switch-off-saving-ip-adresses-and-device-for-new-data-privacy/)
 * My current position — it could be solved legally and not needed to solve technically.
 * You can create 1st question like “Are you ok to save your IP, device and browser?”.
 * And when respondent proceed with answering this question — it will be clear consent.

   Also you can solve it by public offer.
 * But if you insist, there is “Anonymous” addon: Respondent’s personal data not
   saved and cookies not used.

 * I understand your position but if i don‘t need this data, why should i collect
   it?
    I know it’s allowed but „data minimization„ should be allowed too if i want
   this.

 * the owner of the plugin doesn´t understand, that it´s a real problem to save
   the ip adress, so, please deactive the plugin and search for a better one!! It
   is absolutely not possible to solve it the “legally way”, mentioned above!!

 * [@jugiii](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jugiii/) prove it.
 * Have you really read GDPR text?

 * It‘s possible to use google fonts, maps … i have wasted my time with the gdpr
   for the last 3 months.
 * Nevertheless, there were the first warnings. I am primarily concerned with this:
   clearly I can collect data and justify it, but that is not my concern. I only
   want to collect data that I need too. that’s the point, so why can I not decide
   for myself what I need and what not? Unfortunately, your plugin does what I want
   to offer at one point and that is the ip store. I do not want to discuss it,
   but have a solution how to switch it off. this option should be left to me as
   a site operator, which data I want to capture and which not? Of course I can
   explain everything somehow, in this case I do not want that. Finally, the survey
   runs without asking for personal data, because I do not need them. I could do
   it differently too. For me, the topic is clear, so I’m looking for an alternative.

 * [@kathi25](https://wordpress.org/support/users/kathi25/), good.
 * Then pls tell us — does your hosting provider/panel stores IP-addresses?
 * For example in nginx/apache logs?
 * If it does, then you also as site operator collect them. So you will need to
   switch to some custom hosting solution too.
 * Also does your site uses something like google analitics? If yes, then you collect
   2nd option — devices’ ids. And you also need to avoid this. It’s a broader issue
   and once again — not just technical.

 * no logfiles, only for my ftp account access.
    no google analytics … (and I would
   use it, then only with anonymous ip)
 * We can stop the discussion at this point. As I said, I do not want to discuss
   a discussion about meaning or nonsense, but find a solution for me, not to collect
   data that I do not need.
    just because I can, does not mean that I have to do
   it! i think we can not come up with a common solution here.
 * my principle of data collection is: collect only what you need, not more.
    apparently
   not everyone has this attitude and that’s why we’re where we are now. Thanks
   anyway for your time.
