  • Hello andhi1,

You can invite author by adding them into wp-admin >> Users >> Add New. Assign Role as “Author” and keep the “Send User Notification” checked on so the added author can get the notification.

    Thanks

Kailash’s suggestion will give that person an account on your site, but not a “WordPress account.”

If you are asking how someone could be invited to be an author without requiring a website account and logging into the site, one way would be:

    1. create a password protected page (so that you don’t get a lot of “general public” spam submissions
    2. on that page, set up a Gravity Forms form with the fields needed for a post
    3. set up a feed with the Advanced Post Creation GF addon so that a draft post was created that you can edit and approve.

Do be aware that this type of setup would require the GF Elite license. So it can be done, but it’s not cheap.
