Do you have any links or screenshots you can share where we can see the issue? That definitely sounds add and I’d like to see what you’re seeing to make sure I’m understanding what is happening and can try to troubleshoot from there.

First one shows no text in text area (but there is). You can see the red dots pointing out mispelled words:

It also lost the formatting on the main calendar page. All the words run together. And links are not live: http://www.rhaa.org/events/
But when you click on the specific event, the text is formatted/organized and the link works.
The only way we can currently put text in the text field is to type it in another program and then copy/paste the text into the text field. Otherwise, we would have no idea what we are typing since it is invisible.

I would suggest checking which template you are using under Events > Settings > Display and make sure you are using the Default Events Template.

This is really odd and admittedly something I have not come across before. Does the same issue happen when you switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Fifteen) and deactivate all other plugins? I just want to rule that out since this is a new issue I haven’t seen before and am unable to recreate it on my own test site.
Here are some steps to help test for conflicts and walk through that process.
Lastly, will you please confirm what version of the plugin you are using and which version of WordPress is currently installed.

Geoff…. I looked at the settings and it is using the Default Events Template. I am leery to change themes. I have a child them on this site and it makes me nervous to swap themes around. Would it be any benefit to give you limited access to the site and look at things?
Everything was fine until recently, so I suspect it has something to do with an update…either Events Calendar or WordPress….???

Thanks for following up. Try disabling the CKEditor that you have activated. The original issues sounds like there may be some admin styles getting added to the WYSIWY. By chance, is your main site a site with a dark background and white text?

BeardedGinger…thanks for the advice! I disabled the CKEditor and that helped… we can now see the text in the admin section of WordPress and actually see what we type.
However, there is NO formatting on the main calendar page: http://www.rhaa.org/events/
And the links do not work on this page. The links only work when you click on a specific event.
Any other ideas?

Thanks for disabling that plugin, I’m glad some progress has been made here! Unfortunately, for style-related issues, Geoff’s recommendation earlier in the thread to try and activate a default theme to see if it helps is still the best recommendation if you’re trying to figure out where these styles – or lack thereof – are coming from. In other words: your formatting issues are likely theme-related, so activating a default theme is a good way to confirm this.
If you need to tweak the formatting so that things look a certain way, you’d unfortunately have to write custom CSS. You can use a [free]! tool like Firebug if you use FireFox, or the Developer Tools for either Safari or Chrome to help make writing this custom CSS much, much easier.
Finally, as for the links on the events page you linked to, I actually didn’t have any problems with the links there like you mentioned – all the single event links worked fine, and so did any other link I clicked around to. Can you clarify what exact link-related issues you encountered on that page?
