Hi,

The side button text is invisible even though it has been specified as being red on a green button in the dashboard settings.

What is causing this and how can it be resolved?

The most likely cause is that there may be some CSS overriding the text colour, or a z-index problem. Use your element inspector to examine. Happy to help if you provide a link to the affected site.
