[resolved] Invalid User on Self-Hosted Blog and Can't Get In (3 posts)

I've done some looking around the forum and haven't been able to find out something that deals directly with the problem I'm having. I'll try to be brief in describing it.

The situation happened when I got a notice from my host that my "hosting account has been investigated by our administrators due to excessive load/high resource utilization which includes high CPU utilization and memory consumption produced by your MySQL database queries."

I'm not that web-savvy, so this is a bit confusing, but I get the gist. My site generates 20 hits on a full day because I've been neglecting it a bit, logging in once every ten days or so because life has gotten in the way of writing for it. However, I tried to yesterday and got a "Invalid username and password" message. I reset the password, in case I'd forgotten it, then was told I'm an invalid user.

Obviously, this seems to be a bit fishy, that the CPU utilization pops up and then I can't log in to my site. My questions are:

    1) Is there a workaround so I can get back to my WordPress dashboard?
    2) If I just delete the database that's on my server, would that be enough?

I'm thinking about taking the "blog.jasoneichacker.com" page down and just making it the home page anyway. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated by this ignoramus.

    1. Have a look at these links:

    2. At only 20 hits a day, I'd be curious to know where the CPU load came from. That amount of traffic shouldn't cause any problems. Any chance you can get some more details from your hosts?

Sorry it's taken so long to respond. The last couple days have gotten away from me. This is what they've sent me...

They went on to ask me to "reveal your database and optimise it in order not to cause excessive server load."

Thanks so much for supplying some options to me. I'm going to look through the sites you provided this evening and see what it does. May just delete the database. I wouldn't lose a whole lot, I think. More frustrated by being locked out.
