invalid user name

I cannot login to my URL – message says invalid user name – change password, I did this but it still doesnt work – what do I do now – I have checked my admin area – and its info that I had to enter when I changed my password, but this doesnt give any clues – Am I supposed to change the password again?? Where is phpadmin I dont see this all I see is admin area.
