Invalid scan response for lots of files

    Hi,

    I ran the Malcure scan and I got “Invalid Scan Response” for many of the files in my wp-content directory. Does that mean that these files have malware or does it mean that the files could not be scanned? Do the permissions of my wp-content directory have anything to do with the scan response message? Please clarify.

    Hi,

    Thank you for using Malcure. Invalid scan response means the plugin was unable to scan the file. If the files are readable by wordpress, then it’s not a permission issue.

    This failure could be due to several other reasons like server load, server slowness etc. In case of a failure, Malcure attempts to run a second iteration of scan one file at a time, automatically. So it’s probably server load or the file permissions / contents.
