    Dear Contact Form 7 Team,

First of all thank you for the best contact form ever!

I have a question on creating the mail form. I want to send the contact form to different recipients with a drop down menu. I have already read the support form on that. I used the code” [select your-recipient] ”

My question is setting up to “TO” Section on the Mail settings. When i input the short code which is “[your-recipient]” it gives me syntax error. In the support forum states ” You can use mail-tags in those fields, but be careful. When you use the mail-tag in the email address section of a mailbox, ensure that the mail-tag is ALWAYS replaced by an email address.”

What is supposed to mean by this. Especially with “ensure that the mail-tag is ALWAYS replaced by an email address.” How can i replace this by an email address?

    Thank you for the help

    Hi

Did you manage to resolve this issue, as i’m suffering from the same problem 🙁

    Thanks

I had the same problem. Recreating the form from this tut https://contactform7.com/selectable-recipient-with-pipes/ in order to have a selectable recipient.

I have a correctly set [select your-recipient Name|name@example.com] and [your-recipient] in the To field (recipient). Still I’m getting – Invalid mailbox syntax is used.

Actually you can ignore this – it looks like an error, but when you click save it will work and the recipient can be chosen.

Takayuki, @takayukister it would be great if you check it – it’s misleading.

    Otherwise awesome plugin!

I have the same issue on every site with CF7. I am aware of the support page:

    https://contactform7.com/configuration-errors/invalid-mailbox-syntax/

But this doesn’t really address the issue.

The To field shown in that article is fine (although the instruction os really confusingly written). The issue is always with the From field, and Reply to, when used.

    I have:

    From [your-name]

    and

    Additional Headers Reply-To: [your-email]

It is not clear from that article why these are failing.

If this is a bug, it’s been in CF7 a very long time!

    Hello,

It is the first time I am using CF7 and I absolutely love it.

But I am facing an issue which I can’t find the way to resolve it.

In the Mail tab (FROM) I have the [your-name] shortcode but it shows that an Invalid mailbox syntax is used.

It would be great if anyone could help me on this.

    Thanks,
    Tariq

    Same problem, what gives?

    [recipient*]

    <label> Your Name (required)
        [text* your-name] </label>

    <label> Your Email (required)
        [email* your-email] </label>

    <label> Subject
        [text your-subject] </label>

    <label> Category
          [select recipient* "Tickets & Subscriptions|tickets@test.org" "Group Sales|test@test.org" "Public Relations|communications@test.org" "General Inquiry|office@test.org"]
    </label>

    <label> Your Message
        [textarea your-message] </label>
