 * I’ve moved my WP installation from a subfolder to the root of my server. I’ve
   noticed that Site Kit stopped working and now I will get an Invalid JSON response
   message error into the dashboard instead of seeing the statistics. I’m using
   a WAF named Shield-on, but it not cause the problem since this is occuring after
   I’ve moved the website.
 * Is there any fix I can apply?

 * Thanks for reaching out [@bpaolilloict](https://wordpress.org/support/users/bpaolilloict/),
   and sorry to hear you are having trouble since moving your WordPress directory
   into a subfolder. The best approach for doing so is to [reset Site Kit](https://sitekit.withgoogle.com/documentation/using-site-kit/reset/)
   before performing any such move.
 * To resolve this, are you able to temporarily move your WordPress files back to
   their original location before then resetting Site Kit from there? Please don’t
   reset Site Kit until your WordPress files are moved back into the location where
   they were previously, when they were last working. After performing a reset from
   here, you can then reset Site Kit before then moving your WordPress files directory
   once more.
 * Note also then when you’re attempting Site Kit set up once your new location,
   with WordPress files in it’s own directory, you will need to connect all previously
   connected modules once more. Any other previously connected administrators, if
   any, will also need to set up the plugin once more.
 * Let me know how you get on with the above, or ask if you have any questions.

 * Hello [@jamesosborne](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jamesosborne/) , unfortunately
   I’m unable to move the files back into the subfolder where WordPress was originally
   installed. Is there any way to reset sitekit without doing this operation?

 * Sorry to hear that [@bpaolilloict](https://wordpress.org/support/users/bpaolilloict/).
   During set up, Site Kit registers your site with various records that your WordPress
   files path. If your path doesn’t match that registered, errors can occur.
 * > Is there any way to reset sitekit without doing this operation?
 * As long as you didn’t reset Site Kit there are some possible ways to get Site
   Kit working with your new WordPress files directory. Before suggesting the most
   suitable checks, can you share a recording of your current experience? You can
   use a service such as[ ](https://imgur.com)[Loom](https://loom.com) or [RecordIt](https://recordit.co)
   to share a screen recording, while using the [this form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1lhjns2K7c0Ny7ME4gxTcsnYtNUtcMr8BvFpPQi23Y1E/)
   to share this privately.
 * One other suggestion you may wish, which can trigger Site Kit to collect new
   data for your site, is to revisit your WordPress general settings, and either
   add a www prefix in front of your domain (ie. `https://www.yoursite.com`) if
   it doesn’t already have a www prefix, or remove the www prefix if this already
   is in place (ie. `https://yoursite.com`). After doing so you may notice that
   Site Kit will recognize this a site URL change, guiding you through the set up
   process once more.

 * [@jamesosborne](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jamesosborne/) I’ve followed
   your suggestion and I’ve changed the url by removing the www prefix. After this
   I’ve re-added the www prefix and now Site Kit seems working correctly. I hope
   that the problem will not occur anymore, thank you for the support.

 * Excellent! Glad to that that worked. As long as you’re wp-admin path, your site
   URL, or the location of your WordPress files directory doesn’t change, you should
   no longer run into issues relating to these changes. In most cases, Site Kit
   recognizes changes, suggesting you set up the plugin once more.
 * If you run into any further errors be sure to reach out. As it sounds like you’ve
   been a Site Kit user for some time. please also considering [leaving your plugin feedback.](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/google-site-kit/reviews/#new-post)
 * Best of luck.
