    Hello,

I’ve been messing with this for some time hoping that it would sort itself out. My new subscribers are not being added to my MC list. The error log always shows “Invalid interest ID ‘cad51d39f4′”.

I’m not asking it to sync any special fields, and I have repeatedly renewed my list to make sure it’s not looking for anything special.

I think users are syncing correctly once they’re in MC. I have double opt-in turned off in MC and the plugin.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Daniel

    Hey Daniel,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Please follow these steps and try again:

    1) Go to “MailChimp for WP” and click on “Renew MailChimp Lists” button.
    2) Go to “MailChimp for WP > Forms”, remove any interest group fields and add them again using the buttons provided on top of the form code.

Once this is done, please test again and let us know if the error is no longer displayed.

    Hello Harish,

Thanks for your response. I did renew the lists again and checked the form. I don’t have any interest fields on the form, so I just saved the settings again. When I did a manual sync, the error is still there.

    Hello,

Are you using our “User Sync” plugin to update users? The error does not seem to be coming from a form.

    Hi,

I’m using it to do two things (I thought) – add and update. It’s a membership site, so when a new user registers, it should add them to the MC list. It used to do this correctly, but I’m not sure what happened. I assumed it stopped when I changed my MC group setup, but the “renew lists” should have taken care of that.

As far as I know, I’m not telling it to do anything special with groups or tags, just add new users to the list and keep them updated.

    Hello,

While I do not have the exact details of your setup, if you had changed the interest details in your MailChimp list, can you please confirm if you changed them in your website too? How were you sending the interest group details from your WordPress site to MailChimp? If you used custom code, then please update it.

    Hello,

At this point, I’m using the plugin primarily to sync my WP users with MC. I do have a simple form with no groups – First, Last, Email – but it’s rarely used. These errors are coming when it tries to sync and update my MC list.

I used to have a bunch of groups in MC, but I’ve converted them all over to tags except for one. It looks to me that the plugin is trying to sync two interest IDs, but I have only one now. I can’t figure out where the plugin is getting the other one from. And I thought that renewing the lists should eliminate it from looking for any of the old groups.

    Hello,

It’s possible that you have some custom code in your thene. Please check the “functions.php” file and see if there is any code related to our plugin.

Sure enough! Wow, I did not remember doing that. I’m getting all success messages now. Thanks so much for your help and patience in tracking it down!
