• for no reason known to me, now the galleries dont work.
When I go to check the post and click the Attach NexGen Gallery to Post, I get this error.
Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home/domain/public_html/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/attach_to_post/package.module.attach_to_post.php on line 654

    this appears 6 times.

and then the Display Galleries Tab is >Select a display type

there is nothing in here (usually it have 5 ( i think) different style displays)

I have tryed relaoding the plugin, deactivating it and activating it. .
Tryed all sorts of things. Still get the error.

I have WP 4.1.1 but am sure this was there long before the error

In the post where the Gallery was set up I now get A red triangle with an explaination mark in it..
    My Version is v. 2.0.71

Am back tracking to version V2.0.66.37 to see if that fixes it.

    OK UPDATE..

I reverted back to version V2.0.66.37 as that was what I had before.
    It now all works ok..
So new version is currupt and at this point does Not work properly..

WARNING!!! Dont up date plugin for NexGen Gallery just yet..

    Warning 2..

This is why you should ALWAYS make a good backup before doing Any updates!!!

Wealthy, how do I revert to a back version? (I’m a newbie here…)

Lucky I had a copy from a backup I did.
but basically I just uploaded the old version over top of the new version that was on my site into Plugins and ngg_styles.
Don’t delete or de-activate the new version.
Just Over write the files. Upload them via FTP etc

Not sure where you can get old version from but NextGen Site is currently down as I type this..

I have an older version if you want it

the update may not work as expected on your site, but that may not be the case for other sites. There may be a specific issue with another plugin or the theme on your site causing an incompatibility. the title of this topic has been edited to frame it as a support request rather than a potentially misleading warning which may not be applicable to all other users.

Come on. Look at all the other posts that say this update is causing problems..

So you edit topics etc to suit yourselves.. NOT good..

No, Cubecolour is a moderator of the WordPress.org forums. His moderation is not biased by any plugin.

So then members will update to new version and it will screw up their site as well..
we as members should have a right to warn people NOT to update to this version of the plugin..
If a plugin stuffs up one or two sites then maybe it is our fault, but when there are a large number of members over a short period of time complaining that the plugin has failed or stuffed there site up, others have a right to know Via the Title of the Topic.
As it is now members will continue to update..

Why is it a Moderator will keep deleteing what others are saying? do they not like someone speaking their own mind on here..

    What was deleted is

Wealthy is correct to be upset that a moderator has altered his entry. If a moderator wants to add another perspective for viewers to consider that’s good, but to alter a valid entry like Wealthy submitted is NOT GOOD!!!!

Remember that you posted in a support forum.

You opened a thread with a thread title that would have discouraged you from receiving help. Thankfully a moderator saw this and changed it for you, and had let you know about that change. This change was to help you receive support.

I strongly suggest you change the direction that this thread is heading towards, before this thread is closed for non-constructive comments.

I posted in here yes. for support. AFTER I saw many many other threads saying they too had problems with the Update. Then unlike many others I solved the problem by reverting back to an older version.
I was preventing others who saw the thread NOT to update or they too would have problems and as you have seen there are many who dont know how to fix or revert back to an older version.. So their sites would have errored or as some have CRASHED…..

If you as a moderator take this as Non- Constructive then close this thread.

I am in a internet group of over 800 members and many are watching this thread and many have emailed me with the comments of I am right you warn others..

If the Thread had been left or was changed to a warning then this would not have gone on with you deleting posts because they go against your personal thoughts..

Be a constructive Moderator and not a destructive one…
Leave this be and it will die…
