    Hi I’m setting up a new website and the first plugin I’ve added is reallysimple SSL I went through the set up process and I’m getting the following error message:

    403 output: {“error”:”invalid_credentials”,”error_description”:”The user credentials were incorrect.”}
    Installing SSL certificate…
    Enabling auto renew…

    I’ve no idea why this is happening.

    I must not have communicated what I meant clearly, I wasn’t asking what does really simple SSL do, I meant will it do what its supposed to when the setup process isn’t complete?

    Since your site already has an SSL certificate, the Let’s Encrypt wizard does not have to be completed. During the wizard, the plugin creates an ssl/keys directory one level above the websites root directory, or in the root directory if it cannot write to one level above the root. You can delete this as it’s not used by the plugin. Besides that, not completing the wizard won’t have any other side effects on your site.

    I don’t fully understand, are you saying the plugin just by going through the setup wizard even if it doesn’t complete adds the change necessary to ensure an SSL is forced to be used?

    And if so I take it I can just leave the plugin active and ignore the warning messages?

    After activating, the plugin will show a notice with an ‘Activate SSL’ button. The plugin will move your site to SSL after clicking on this button. It will update your home/site-url to https:// and add a redirect. The Let’s Encrypt certificate wizard is optional.
