    Hi Jeff
I am using Heartbeat Control with the KLEO theme. The theme uses admin-ajax.php for their login form, so we have it disabled on Dashboard only. We also have the interval set to 60 seconds.

However, malicious IPs are able to call the admin-ajax.php several times per second, overloading our servers.

Is there a way to enforce the interval harder?

The Heartbeat Control plugin only prevents the heartbeat from hitting admin-ajax.php and will not affect users actually accessing admin-ajax.php.

As for solving your issue, I recommend plugins like BruteProtect or iThemes Security to block brute force attacks.
