Customers report that Mailpoet subscription links result in a 404 error message on the website were Mailpoet in running.

I figured that “G DATA Internet Security” (a popular internet security software in Germany) seems to be altering the subscription links from:

    /?mailpoet_page=subscriptions&mailpoet_router&endpoint=subscription&action=confirm&data=xxx

    to:

    /?mailpoet_page=subscript-disabledions&mailpoet_router&endpoint=subscript-disabledion&action=confirm&data=xxx

So the software is replacing “subscript” with “subscript-disabled” resulting in a broken link.

Maybe other security software is doing the same … what do you think how to avoid this? Obviously you can not tell “normal” people to disable their security software.

    Hi there @fuchsws,

We haven’t seen this with any other security software. Have you tested if the sender is whitelisted if the links are still modified by the security software?

    Thanks!
