Internation addresses requiring State

    I am using the latest Woocommerce version 2.6.4

    When I checkout with an International Address (in this case Austria), I get error stating that:
    Billing State / County is a required field.
    Shipping State / County is a required field.

    I’ve included a screenshot, as you can see there are no red fields. There is no State / County field shown and no fields show are highlighted red.

    I tried to search exhaustively (Google, Stack Exchange, this forum) but I couldn’t find anything pertaining to this.

    Thanks for any ideas!

    Hi Piotr,

    I have already added code to my functions.php file to make the state fields not be required. There is no need for a plugin for that.

    However, this is only a temporary solution until this bug is resolved.

    No, there was no solutino. Woocommerce claimed they attempted to reproduce it but could not, and blamed it on other plugins.

    yes same problem after spending hundreds on an add and wondering why there were no sales, so what did you from 6 months ago till today? stopped business?

    It’s been a while, but I believe the hack we used to get by, was to make the billing/shipping states not be a required field.

    It’s a terrible solution but it has worked so far.
