I had a similar problem once or twice, caused by cache plugins.
To solve it, I dumped the database and used Notepad ++ editor to find the wrong URL strings with the Search and Replace function, and replaced the wrong URL´s.
As it is usually a mass problem caused (by the cache plugin) with the wrong rewrite of URL´s, the solution will also give a mass correction.
It is always safe to back up the database prior to any plugin install or update.
Hope this helps.
