    IF we set a coupon for the full price (thus 100%) discount it generates an internal server error before the payment stage. WE only want people with a coupon to get this item free of charge, how do we resolve this issue?

    IF this is not possible, how to allow only certain people to get a product free of charge?

    Hi there,

    Are you using the WooCommerce core coupons to create the coupon that allows the item to be free of charge?

    I created a test coupon on my site to see if I could reproduce an error but I wasn’t able to and the coupon worked successfully.

    This kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
     
    The best way to determine this is to:
     

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

    If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.     We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Thank-you Amanda, my apologies for not updating here. The internal server error was due to an unescaped quote mark in one of the email templates. Now corrected. AS the file was copied from WC to my theme folder to enale that edit, it gave the appearance of being connected to the theme, which was not the case.
