 * I just updated your plugin and after updating it, I am getting a internal server
   error when loading the site.
 * I FTP’ed to my files and renamed your plugin folder and the site came back up.
 * I updated to Version 3.2.2 and I am running word press 4.0.
 * Any help to get the plug in back up and running would be appreciated.
 * Thanks

 * Hi hlbuckner2,
 * Sorry to hear about the upgrade troubles. First thing I’d suggest is to try a
   conflict test. Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts
   with AWPCP, which may help pinpoint the issue: [http://awpcp.com/forum/faq/how-to-test-for-plugintheme-conflicts/](http://awpcp.com/forum/faq/how-to-test-for-plugintheme-conflicts/)
 * That may tell you which plugin is causing a problem. However, it’s possible that
   it may tell you it’s AWPCP. In which case I’d suggest reading this article here:
   [http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/what-kind-of-hosting-should-i-use-for-wordpress-and-why-is-shared-hosting-a-problem/](http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/what-kind-of-hosting-should-i-use-for-wordpress-and-why-is-shared-hosting-a-problem/)
   and see if you’re on shared hosting, which may be contributing to the issue.

 * I only have one other plugin – Contact US. I deactivated it and as soon as I
   activated AWPCP I got the Internal Server error 500 message.
 * I changed to a default theme, same thing happened.
 * So, I have been running AWPCP for a little while. I was just using it to display
   some ads of cars we are selling.
 * Only thing I know now is to abandon the plug in. Unless you have another suggestion.

 * Hi hlbuckner2,
 * If you’re on shared hosting, there’s not much we can offer if it’s struggling
   to display the output. What happens if you switch themes? Do things work then?
   It could be the theme, too.

 * No the theme did not make any difference. It was working great till I updated
   the plug in that was rolled out. As soon as I updated it, the site crashed.

 * You never mentioned if you’re on shared hosting. Is that the case here?
 * How many listings do you have?

 * I’m nervous about upgrading to latest plugin given the last time I upgraded (
   internal server errors and the memory limit issues). I guess anytime I read that
   the entire WP database should be backed up prior to updating makes me anxious.
 * I’m using Godaddy’s Managed WordPress. [https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/8926/what-is-managed-wordpress](https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/8926/what-is-managed-wordpress)
 * Do you think this would be ok? I’m currently running Version 3.0.1 on WP 4.0.

 * Hi thatsgame1,
 * As a general practice, it’s a GOOD idea to have regular full backups of your
   site. We suggest that because many people forget and if there is a problem, which
   doesn’t happen that often, they have a way to return to the prior state.
 * In your case however, you’re about 5 revisions out of date. The 2.x->3.x transition
   was much more challenging because we made major internal changes to the plugin.
   These recent 5 revisions are not quite as massive. More like hundreds of smaller
   changes, some new features and the like.
 * With that said, I would still recommend a full backup of your files and databases
   in case something does go wrong. It’s best to keep up with plugin updates, because
   it’s more predictable (and what we test on) to go from the prior release to the
   current release.
