• Hi,
    I need your help…
Background – I don’t very good with English and Computers… so i need yours patience. thanks

Today i enter to the dashboard of my blog end i do automatic update. Suddenly i kicked out and now i can not enter again:

    Internal Server Error (500).

I sent e-mail to dreamhost and the answer was:

Thanks for writing in. I’m sorry for the issue you’re having. I’m seeing
the following in your error log so there is an issue with your .htaccess
    file.

    Mon Jul 18 07:09:31 2011] [alert] [client 12.248.40.138]
    /home/liadsolenko/liadsolenko.com/.htaccess: </IfModule> without matching
    <IfModule> section

In looking into this further I’m seeing that the .htaccess file was
    modified/change earlier today.

    -rw-r–r– 2 liadsolenko pg4531196 1409 2011-07-18 01:56 .htaccess

You’ll simply need to double check the changes you made to the file or
remove them to get the site up and running again.

I’m sorry I couldn’t do more for you. If you need anything else or have
any other questions please let me know.

What am i need to do now??
    thanks..

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hi esmi,
    I can not do this:
    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
because i can not access to the dashboard (mysite.com/wp-admin = Internal error again).

    Liad

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

Since you can not log in admin you will need to deactivate manually

if you have access to your admin panel, try deactivating all plugins. If you don’t have access to your admin panel, try manually resetting your plugins, using ftp rename plugins folder to plugins_hold and create a blank plugins folder If that resolves the issue, delete blank plugins folder and rename original back to plugins reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to rule-out a theme-specific issue. If you don’t have access to your admin panel, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the Default theme Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

All you need to do is reset your permalinks as new .htaccess file will be created
