 * So about this time last year I created a website for my Nans caravan renting
   business. The website was going well up until about 2 weeks ago, where it got
   this message out of no where.
 *     ```
       "Internal Server Error

       The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

       Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

       More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

       Apache Server at devon-cliffs-caravan-holidays.co.uk Port 80"
       ```
 * Now no one has actually touched the website, so it somehow broke itself (which
   I find incredibly annoying!). So far I have done all I know to do by disabling
   all products and none default themes (by renaming the plugins folder and theme
   folder). Yet the problem is still there.
 * Any advice?
 * Thanks!
 * Where are you getting this error, on the front or the back of the site?
    What
   version of WordPress is it running?
 * You mention you have disabled all products, do you mean plugins? or are you running
   some sort of e-commerce solution.
 * Do you have access to server logs, either from your hosts control panel, or sometimes
   in a folder called logs? If so can you access the error log which hopefully will
   have some additional information to diagnose the issue. If you don’t have access
   your host should be able to provide them.
 * Both front and back end (I assume you mean wp-login) give the same error.
 * Not sure what version it is running, probably the latest as it should auto update?
   How can I check without logging in?
 * I meant plugins, typed this up at like 7am!
 * I enabled error logs a week ago but none have come up, none for the website in
   question at least.
 * Ok so when you say you have disabled the plugins, you renamed the plugin folder
   in wp-content?
 * Couple of things to try, in your ftp/sftp client, rename your .htaccess if you
   have one (you may need to set your client to show hidden files) has the site
   returned?
 * If so it may well still behave broken, but should let you get to the admin area,
   if you can then go to settings, permalinks and resave.
 * Have you contacted your host, did they suggest anything
 * Renaming the htaccess works, but the site is just blank. At least I can now login.
 * What exactly do you want me to do with the permalinks? I changed them to default
   and saved but it did not bring the site back.
 * I restored the plugins and themes and the site is now working again, thanks!
 * What should I do about the htaccess?
 * When you saved the permalinks it will have generated a new .htaccess file, or
   given you some code to create a new one.
 * If it created a new one, then you are good to go, otherwise you will need to
   copy the code it gave you into .htaccess and save
