 * sorry if this is old news…
 * i had wordpress up and running a few hours ago but wanted to change the directory
   from
    [http://www.scrantiques.com/chris/wordpress/](http://www.scrantiques.com/chris/wordpress/)
   to [http://www.scrantiques.com/chris/](http://www.scrantiques.com/chris/)
 * deleted all the files associated (the whole wordpress folder) and attempted to
   reinstall in an empty folder ‘chris’
 * tried to install like normal – had worked 2 days ago
    but i keep getting internal
   server errors (500) here is where my current install is: [http://www.scrantiques.com/wordpress/](http://www.scrantiques.com/wordpress/)
 * i have followed the directions specifically, but no luck
    i have also changed
   the db prefix (from wp_ to wp2_) thinking perhaps that might help – but it didn’t
   any help would be appreciated

 * The 500 error is being caused by a .htaccess file. Just delete it.
 * To move your blog:
 * – Login > Options
    – There are two URI’s. Change them to the new location – Without
   doing anything else, use your ftp or cpanel to move the files (or in your case
   change the directory name from /wordpress to /chris) – Now log back into your
   blog.

 * i removed the .htaccess file, and did a complete upload, and wp-confiure – but
   still no luck

 * I see no 500 anywhere on the URL’s above.
    Where are you seeing it ?

 * i just got – after the htaccess – i accidentally used a bad install
    retried 
   with a fresh dload works like a charm
 * now i’m gonna try the move directions
