Internal links to track as outbound 2 (2 posts)

Hi Joost/any other gurus out there :)

I have an affiliate site and am using a redirect plugin to 'hide' specific outbound links. These links all begin (not to say cloaked!) '/play-'. So far I am not seeing any pageviews/clicks for these links.

Have just changed from clicks to pageviews in advanced settings. "Track outbound clicks & downloads:" is checked and I have entered "/play-" in the internal links ... field. I can see no change in page source code. Should I.

The links I want to monitor seem to differ slightly from the examples given in the Google Analytics for WordPress documentation, which all follow a folder structure style, as though they were using /%category%/%postname%/ custom permalink. Mine is just /%postname%/.

    * Should it be possible for me to track my internal links as outbound?
    * Is there anything specific I can do to make this happen?
    * What kind of checks can I do to figure out what the problem is?

    Cheers for any help received.

I'm having the same issue. I'd love to hear an answer on this. I've gotten it to work tracking links as page views but not as events.
