 * Hi, I’m installing wordpress on my site and to complete all the steps correctly
   and enter
    [http://web.net/wp-admin/install.php](http://web.net/wp-admin/install.php)
   I get this error:
 * > Internal Server Error
   > The Server Encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and WAS Unable
   > to complete your request.
   > Please contact the server administrator, root @ localhost and inform Theme 
   > of the time the error occurred, and anything you Might Have Done That May Have
   > Caused the error.
   > More information about this error May Be available in the server error log.

   installing in a folder

 * No as index file conflict with your website you can only have one index file 
   in folder

 * Install WP in a sub-folder. Then, if you want it to take over the root domain
   at a later date, you can always use [this technique](http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory).

   root and the Technique you suggested will still need copy the index.php file 
   in root so the conflict will still be there as the exiting website has a index
   file

 * But not until such time as he needs it to to take over the root domain. Until
   then, WP can happily live in the sub-folder.
