• I have two intermittent issue happening, when using the Google Docs Embedder plugin, the first error I m getting is
“GDE Error: Unable to retrieve document contents, try using a standard viewer”.
    the second error is
“Bandwidth limit exceeded”- but this will not occur when you refresh the page

Great plugin by the way. Any help would be really appreciated

  • If the first error is intermittent, it may be because of a slow response from the server where your document is hosted. You have a few choices, one of which is to host the document on a faster server (perhaps not worth it depending on your needs, but a Dropbox link typically responds quickly if that makes sense for you). Alternately, I will be increasing the timeout in the next version so you may find it become more rare. If you want to make that change in advance of any updated version, please contact me via the support tab in GDE Settings and I can provide some instructions for this specific change.

The second error is google generated, and unfortunately not documented. Thankfully it is rare but unfortunately I can’t control it with GDE.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for a quick response, I have sent a request through GDE setting support tab, please forward me the instructions to increase the timeout.

In the meantime, I have found one more intermittent issue, which when you open it in chrome or IE 11, shows loading and there will be blank space instead of enhanced viewer. This happened to some of our testers. Have you encountered this kind of issue before, if so, what do you think is the best fix for this?

    Thanks for all your help,
    Aditya
