Hi I am new to wordpress and i have had a look through the forums about this topic, but cant seem to resolve it, can any one help please.

I am getting an intermttient Error establishing a database connection if i try to log on to my blog and the admin area, i say intermittent because if i reload the page a couple of times it then loads ok. i have cleard my cache incase it was this but it still seems to happen, i have also watched a video to check the wp-config file which all details are correct on this.

Any advise and help would be greatly received.

    Thanks

    Jay

  • If it is intermittent I’d say its not your WP settings. If they were bad you should connect ‘never’ not ‘sometimes’. The first thing I’d do would be to ask my host if there were any problems with the MySql server, but there are other possibilities– bad connection between you and the server for example. That happened to me once.

Thanks for the reply, i have been on to seo hosting who i host with they have tried some stuff there end but it still keeps happening, i seem to have the problem since i have installed the amazon widget for wp or the social marker plugin. these are the only 2 changes i have made to the blog and shorthly after these where installed i have had the problem.

So… disable the plugins and see what happens. They could be causing a server timeout.
