Support » Plugin: Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth » Interferes with Crop Thumbnail plugin even if Jetpack is not set up (multisite)

I have a WordPress Multisite instance which has Jetpack network installed. But even on subsites that Jetpack is NOT set up on it seems to interfere with the ‘Crop Thumbnail’ plugin.

Thumbnails don’t show as cropped on the front end. If I disable Jetpack and use the plugin again it works.

I also tried the ‘My Eyes Are Up Here‘ plugin and found the same results.

I had not set up Jetpack, had not logged into WordPress.com and so had NO modules operational.

I have read previously that Jetpack CDN interferes with the plugins working, but without setting up Jetpack it seems odd that it would interfere.

How our image CDN resizes images sometimes, but rarely, interferes with how a theme or other plugin resizes images.

In this case, I recommend keeping “Speed up image load times” switched off at Jetpack > Settings in the site’s Dashboard.

I do apologise – this may not be Jetpack related after all. I tested two sites yesterday and both had issues with thumbnails that seemed to resolve when disabling Jetpack.

I knew Speed Up Image Load Times *wasn’t* turned on so I did some more digging and the issue seems to be related to SSL cert and the timing must have been coincidental.

    Marking as resolved.
