    Can you confirm that you are logged in to your site as a non-administrator user? (e.g. a subscriber)

    The Intercom script is not shown to administrator users, or if you are not logged in.

    If you still don’t see the Intercom button, please view source and see if the Intercom script is there (it’s a couple of lines of JavaScript with an “Intercom for WordPress | v1.0” comment before them).

    If the script is in the source code, but the button is not showing, try the following:

    1. Check that you have no ad blockers or privacy extensions running in your browser, as these can block Intercom.

    2. Go to intercom.io and check secure mode is definitely enabled.

    Let me know if that fixes it.

    Hi Simon

    Cheers! But does that mean that visitors needs to be WP users (e.g. subscribers) in order to see Intercom chat at all? We need a one-to-one chat with our customers. No login should block the dialogue.

    Yes, that’s correct.

    Intercom works by collecting data about your website’s users (email address, user ID and so on), so it knows when they last visited, their message history, etc.

    They have to be logged in so this plugin can collect that data from their WordPress user account and send it to Intercom.

    I installed the plugin and nothing happens. And I have no idea where this “secure” mode is for Intercom.

    Help please… as I’d really like this to work
