  • Hi Ricardo, the following support thread describes how to integrate this plugin with a lightbox. You might be able to use this information to apply it to your plugin.

Ok, got it. Thanks. I’ve read through it and made the changes to the code

I am able to get the lightbox to come up, but it’s not following the URL that I configured in the image slide. It opens up the image itself on the lightbox.

Maybe it’s some conflict with the fancybox plugin? Are those changes specific to another plugin?

Or maybe the slideshows plugin doesn’t support linking to an html page (rather than an image)?

Hi, the changes mentioned in that link are specific to another plugin. However the procedure should should be almost the same for other lightbox plugins.

    Hi,

Which plugin was that solution for?

What I’m finding out is that the $url in the php code is always coming out to be the same as the image url, even though I’ve set a specific link url in my slideshow. I can’t quite figure out why the slideshow isn’t carrying over the URL entry that I have set in the slide. When I look at the HTML source I see that the <img src> and the both have the same location – even though I have a specific and different URL configured

Thank you. I’ve also tried it with the responsive lightbox, and the behavior is the same.

I am trying to have slideshow image open up an external URL. So in order to do that, I configured the slide with an external URL.

However, no matter what I put into the URL field, all I ever get when clicking on the slideshow slide is the image itself. When I look at the html code, the href on the <a href> is always the image address and not the URL that I entered for the slide.

Is this a bug, or does slideshow simply not support an external URL even though it provides a field to enter the URL?

Hi did you add the URL link in the plugin settings? If you did and it is not working can you test one of WordPress default themes like Twenty Fourteen or Fifteen? If that does not help can you disable all your other plugins except this one and carry out a test. If that works then you know there is a conflict with one of your other plugins.

    Hi,

I don’t know what you mean about the URL in the plugin settings? I don’t see anything related to URL in the Slideshow plugin settings.

I do have the URL entered for the slide in the Edit Slideshow page (just above where it says “Open URL in [Same Window, New Window]

I activated the Twenty Fifteen theme, still the lightbox pops up with the image, not the URL I typed into the slide’s setting.

I think I will do a new install of WP to try this out. I don’t want to disable other plugins in case I lose my work.
