Unfortunately, I’ve never heard of UAM, so I have no idea how it works. My plugin should list any role in the global $wp_users array, which is to say, any role that was registered in the WordPress-standard way.

I’m working on something that should at least allow users to add and verify their own non-standard roles in the next release.

Yes, user access manager seems not to use wp_users 🙁
I was led to another plugin for access management and it works out of the box. Since our site will go live next wednesday and I have only some 10 pages to manage my problem is solved.

This is the plugin I now use for anybody who had the same problem.

Members is a great plugin, good choice.
