Support » Installing WordPress » Instlation Error

  • After I have uploaded everything on my site I try to run the script and I’m receiving the follow error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘{‘ in /home/chiro17/public_html/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2672

What is wrong and what do I need to do to finish this install?

    The website page is:
    http://chiroasso.com/wordpress/

try MANUAL re-uploading. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders. You may need to delete the old copies of files & folder on your server before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first.

    same problem,

i did unzip WP and then i used filezilla to put WP in OVH (my host), a file named “www”, it’s supposed to work but hmm, nothing, just this :

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘{‘ in /home/bancou/www/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2672

i did delete everything i had, i did repeat the operation (putting WP) but it keeps the error. I’m not at all a programmer, so, what’s your solution ?

    Thanks

I finally found the issue on my website. The host server (I have a shared hosting account) was not updated to php 5. I ran the update and everything worked fine.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Hope this helps others as well.

have you discussed this problem with your hosting provider?
