# instantWP Database error

 * Hi community
    I’ve installed instantWP_4.5 on a Windows 10 laptop and I got the
   correct page on 127.0.0.1:4001/instantwp/index.php, but when I tried to click
   on the WordPress Admin button I got the message Error establishing a database
   connection. Can anybody please tell me what I have to do? Regards pebi1

 * I haven’t tried InstantWP in a while (but I liked what I saw when I did) can 
   you confirm that mysql is running as a service on Windows 10? You should be able
   to see that in Windows 10 control panel.

 * No, mysql is not running, but I haven’t found it on my windows7 laptop either.
   But there the process mysqld is running. Mysqld is not running on the windows
   10 laptop.

 * To be honest, I’m nut sure if mysql would show up as a service on InstantWP but
   the error message you’re getting makes it look as if mysql isn’t running.
 * Have you tried restarting or re-installing InstantWP?
