• This is an excellent solution when your hosting provider doesn’t implement directory & file password protection to help lockout exploit attempts.

We switched from an older “limit login” plugin because it isn’t being maintain anymore. This is an efficient plugin that has not caused any problems or conflicts on the 200+ sites we have installed.

Although /wp-admin/ or wp-login.php password protection is a much better security solution, sometimes it isn’t configured properly on a hosting provider. I personally like the flexibility of building a .htaccess list or saving the IP addresses in the database.

If you are working from a static IP address or a dynamic IP address that doesn’t change often, make sure you add that IP to the whitelist to save yourself some frustration later.

The PRO version is also very inexpensive for the work it does.
