We absolutely do not add codehive miner, or any other coin mining service. As a Google Analytics plugin, the only scripts we add to a site are Google Analytics’s script and a JavaScript file used for custom event tracking items into GA depending on your plugin settings.

We make our revenue by offering a premium version with pro functionality on our website at ExactMetrics.com.

All of our code is open sourced and available for review both here on WordPress.org (via zip download, plugin trac and plugin svn) as well as on GitHub at https://github.com/awesomemotive/exactmetrics-repo.

As one of the largest plugins on the repository our code is subject to significant oversight and scrutiny and as doing something like that would be against the .org guidelines if a plugin our size tried something like that they’d get pulled immediately.

Likely your site was hacked and someone added that script to it.

Also Coinhive shut down last year so it’s really odd to me as to why someone would want to add that to a site in the first place given the scripts wouldn’t even do anything/work.

Based on that it seems likely either you were hit with an automated hack that inserts it or potentially have a compromised browser extension.
