# install.php returning error messages

 * I’m getting the following messages when I try to run install.php. I uploaded 
   it via FireFTP, to a register.com hosted site. However, it seems to be necessary
   to upload to the www directory or the public_html directory for the install.php
   file to be found at all. When it is found, this is the error message I get:
 * Warning: require_once(../wp-load.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open
   stream: No such file or directory in /home/p23l7e40/public_html/install.php on
   line 18
 * Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘../wp-
   load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/p23l7e40/
   public_html/install.php on line 18
 * I’m stumped and frustrated at this point. Any help is appreciated.

 * you need to upload all of the files into `public_html` with the same directory
   structure as when you unzip it – otherwise it will not work.
    right now, wordpress
   is looking for stuff in the wrong location and you will never be able to install
   with `install.php` in the root
