# install.php doesn’t see wp-config.php

 * I have uploaded wordpress to my remote server ([Blog](http://www.gordothewebguy.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php)),
   created an empty database, and the wp-config.php file with the connection details.
   When I run install.php I get this message:
 * > There doesn’t seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get
   > started. Need more help? We got it. You can create a wp-config.php file through
   > a web interface, but this doesn’t work for all server setups. The safest way
   > is to manually create the file.
 * When I click on “create a wp-config.php file through a web interface,” I am sent
   to a page with this message:
 * > The file ‘wp-config.php’ already exists. If you need to reset any of the configuration
   > items in this file, please delete it first. You may try installing now.
 * When I click on “installing now,” I am returned to the first page.
    If I remove
   the existing wp-conf.php file, I get the Step 1 page, but when I click on “let’s
   go,” I get “No input file specified.” Thanks for your help.

 * What I did was download a new version of WordPress, delete the original install
   and start over. It worked.
