Support » Installing WordPress » install.php can’t find other files, looking in “D:\” for some reason

I have gotten past getting install to log into the mysql database but now I get the following. I suspect it has to do with the D:\ being prepended to the path but I don’t know where that is coming from. Host is Crystaltech.

Warning: require(D:\Inetpub\squaretree\wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\Inetpub\squaretree\wordpress\wp-settings.php on line 204

Warning: require(D:\Inetpub\squaretree\wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\Inetpub\squaretree\wordpress\wp-settings.php on line 204

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘D:\Inetpub\squaretree\wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php’ (include_path=’.;c:\php5′) in D:\Inetpub\squaretree\wordpress\wp-settings.php on line 204

You either didn’t upload all the files or this is an anomaly of your Win server.
    Get a normal linux/apache host.

Hmmmm, yea, I want the 5 minute install easy load blog software but i’m ok with completely moving my web site and hosting company and changing DNS records and everything else just to make the 5 minute install super easy system work.

    not so much.

just for others benefit I got with support at hosting and I was one of the 1% that needed to change the db pointer from localhost and then it worked fine.
