 * When I go to my website, after setting up wp-config.php and uploading all the
   files, it gives me this:
    “It doesn’t look like you’ve installed WP yet. Try
   running install.php.”
 * When I click on install.php it gives me an “Error 500”. I know the install.php
   file is in the wp-admin directory, as I have checked it many times.
 * Any ideas? Thanks guys.

 * A 500 is a server error … if you have any .htaccess files, rename them (you may
   need your ftp client to see them).

 * I don’t see them in any directories…got any ideas where I can find them? And
   what would I rename them too?

 * .htaccess files are hidden by default.
    try to set your ftp client to view hidden
   files first.

 * Are you trying to run install.php from your file manager or are you using your
   browser? You need to navigate to `yoursite.example.com/wp-admin/install.php`
   and that is how you run the install script.

 * I enabled the viewing of hidden files, and still no .htaccess files. In the root
   directory, these are the only files (not including dir’s):
    .cshrc .login .login_conf.
   mail_aliases .mailrc .profile .rhosts .shrc
 * The directories are:
    /cgi /WWW <—this is where I have uploaded all the WP files

 * NuclearMoose – I have attempted opening install.php in an IDE, and IE. When I
   view it in IE is when I get the Error 500.

 * I am not sure what server you are running, but in IIS if you right click install.
   php while in the IIS manager, and move the mouse to “Browse”, then you should
   be able to start the install.
 * Check this link for a bit more info on Error 500:

 * Note: These error descriptions are not specific to any server OS.
 * Hope this helps…
